2nd Annual Like You Children's Film Festival

The Like You Children’s Film Festival is returning to the Pink Palace Museum September 11-13 for three unforgettable days of movies, creativity, and family fun!

As the only event of its kind in the region, the festival uses curated independent and international cinema to foster emotional intelligence, mental wellness, and character development in children, families, and film-lovers of all ages.

Following a successful inaugural year that reached hundreds of local families, this year's festival deepens its impact across the region with curated short and feature-length film blocks, school field trip screenings, hands-on filmmaking workshops led by local creatives, filmmaker Q&As, and a dedicated Youth Jury where kids actively evaluate films and select the festival's award winners. Building on momentum from LYFC's summer film camp at Idlewild Elementary, the festival will also premiere two original short films written, directed, and produced entirely by local youth campers as part of a special Kid Made Shorts block.

Festival weekend at a glance

Schedule Highlights:

• Friday, Sep 11: Opening Night Party (3:30pm) followed by the Opening Night Film, Space Cadet (5:30pm)
• Saturday, Sep 12: A full day from 10am–6:45pm featuring Saturday Morning Cartoons, a Stop Motion Lab, Kid Made Shorts, Bird Boy, The Day You Begin, Friends and Family Shorts, Olivia and the Invisible Earthquake, and a Parenthood Spotlight screening of Nora, plus filmmaking workshops throughout the day
• Sunday, Sep 13: Running 10:30am–5pm with Future Council, Wonderfully Weird Shorts, Grow, Dance Party Shorts, Standout Shorts, Teen Made Shorts, and In Between: Shorts for Tweens and Teens, closing out with My Life in Versailles
• Additional hands-on workshops are scheduled throughout the weekend, with details to be announced

Two Ways to Experience the Festival:

1. A Festival Pass gives you access to every film, workshop, activity, and event during the festival. A festival pass offers the best deal to experience everything the festival has to offer. Passes are on sale now and available HERE.
2. Individual tickets may be purchased for each film, if you only plan to see a film or two. Individual tickets will go on sale HERE beginning on August 16.
